The project is situated close to Yanqi Lake, a site with high ending equipment that the Chinese Government wants to develop in order to attract foreigner investments.
The main idea has been to develop eco-friendly neighborhood with strong identities.
Three “urban archipelagos” surrounded by a park connecting them. Three quarters with three different program, urban structures functions, way of utilization. “Centrum”, Latin word meaning center, is the quarter more representative, with big buildings and equipment.
“Acqua”, Latin word for water, has water canal structuring it, and the program is mostly housing, small retails.
“Hortus”, Latin word for garden, has more program connected to nature, as Museums, Hotel resorts.
The three villages will represent perfectly what the “Silk Road” project is all about: a development which embody the connection between different Cultures. The urban system has been inspired by the typical Italian village, however it has adapted to Chinese population needs and taste. As per the building’s architecture where the dimension, the proportion, the materials represent a real connection between China and Italy, as And Studio is based on.
